Meet Our Team

Our team is the reason we are able to help touch so many lives! Read below to learn more about each MoreEnergy member and how they got started in the health and wellness space.

Michelle

I have been a Registered Nurse for 34 years. During that time I have practiced at the bedside in Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine, and on the trauma team. I have been involved in education for the last 20 years beginning with teaching at the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University Dental School to teaching in the Health Sciences department at Brigham Young University-Idaho. I have extensive experience in curriculum writing and program development. I developed several statewide health care programs for the Commonwealth of Virginia working with the Governor’s office. I built the medical specialties programs for the Chesterfield Technical College in Chesterfield Virginia.

I am a Certified Personal Trainer, a Certified Health and Wellness Coach and a Therapeutic Nutrition Practitioner through the Institute of Functional Medicine and a Fitness Nutrition Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I developed the highly successful MoreEnergy health program. My main focus is to provide nutrition, fitness, and lifestyle education to those who want to take control of their disease risks and processes to live a healthier, more productive life.

I love trying new things, learning everything about everything, and being outdoors and active. Most of all, I love my husband and our 7 kids, spouses and grandkids!

Dianna

I grew up an Air Force brat and lived all over the world. I studied Youth Leadership and Recreation Management at BYU-Idaho, Utah, and Hawaii. I love Family time. I enjoy playing basketball, golf, and soccer. I love traveling, exploring, and learning. I love eating great food with people I love and conversation that inspires.

I have been married for 37 years. We have 7 amazing kids and 8 grandlittles that light up our home. We have lived in Pleasant Grove since 1992 and I have been involved in the city since 2010. I have served on the Planning Commission 4 years and now as a City Councilor since 2014. I love being involved. My husband and I have owned Design Spectrum since 1991. My happiest moments are when I have the opportunity to lift and inspire. I want everyone to have MoreEnergy, enabling them to accomplish what they envision.

Lydia

I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Community Health with an emphasis in Health Education at Utah Valley University. I hold certifications in Personal Training, Health Coaching & Nutrition Coaching.

As a young athlete with a natural passion for health, and a type A personality, I struggled with a number of eating disorders in my teens. I spent years applying health information poorly which compromised my mental, gut and hormonal health. Now, through personal experience and professional training my goal is to help people who are confused about their health reach their goals the right way! I love working with athletes: young or old, actively competing in sports or trying to stay fit for a new goal.

My hobbies include weight training, outdoor walks, wakesurfing at Lake Powell, indoor soccer, dancing with my three daughters, receiving memes from my husband, and watching long health podcasts on Youtube.

My family spent the last couple of years living in South Florida but are excited to be closer to family, the mountains and four seasons.

Melissa

Hi, I’m Melissa Shimanek — Certified Integrative & Functional Nutrition Practitioner, Women’s Health Specialist, and passionate advocate for empowered living at every stage of life. Growing up, I was always active. I played competitive tennis and softball and developed a strong interest in health and the human body early on. I studied Health Science and Nutrition at Brigham Young University and later earned advanced certifications in Integrative and Functional Health, with a specialized focus on women’s wellness and hormone balance.
While I’ve always had a passion for keeping my body strong and healthy, things changed when I turned 40. My body started shifting in ways I didn’t expect — low energy, joint pain, stubborn weight gain, mood swings — and when I looked for answers, I was told it was “just part of getting older.” That answer didn’t sit right with me. So, I began a deep dive into midlife health, exploring root causes and sustainable solutions. What I discovered changed my life — and now I help others do the same. Today, I work with both women and men to take back control of their health using a personalized, root-cause approach that blends functional nutrition, hormone support, and lifestyle strategies. My mission is to help you feel energized, strong, and truly well — because when you feel good in your body, you can fully enjoy your life. When I’m not coaching clients, you’ll find me hiking, lifting weights, traveling, spending quality time with my family, or unwinding with a good Netflix series.
